Deck Building..lets do it RIGHT!

Last summer Jerry and I chose to take on THIS deck..... When I say "take on THIS deck"...I mean fix someone else's poor workmanship.

I'm sure you are wondering why I chose this picture???? Wellll.....doesn't this yard look so pretty? :)

I chose this picture because as much as renovation/building can LOOK pretty, it MUST be done right! First thing wrong in this picture.... a deck should NEVER sit 3 feet off the ground without railings!!!! Safety codes need to be met!

Next issue...the stairs! No railings again!, along with improper rise and runs of each stair, they were not attached properly to the deck, and could have fallen at any time!!!

Once we got under this deck we realized it was never adhered properly to the house, and was not supported properly throughout!!!!

Now we must fix! And fix right!

Please remember when choosing a trade to do the work, that they know what they are doing!
